Extra support information (SEND)

Most children will need a little extra support at some point during their education.

Many children will need some support with their speech and understanding. Within pre-school we are well used to developing programmes tailored to the individual child, and children can also take part in our Talk Boost programmes, which we run throughout the year. Information can be found here

Our staff are experienced in supporting both children and their families with a wide range of additional needs. We work closely with other professionals and with the STePS department at Derby Council where necessary. We always work in partnership with families as we plan and support each child so they can achieve their very best potential.

Some families find it very useful to also be involved with external support groups. Within Derby there are a number of groups which have been set up to provide information, support and sometimes just a social network for families.
